  4.  This doc will hopefully get you running MCF 4.13 a little quicker.

  7.    Ok, first of all, you need MCF. For the newest version go to
  8.    http://home.ptd.net/~strdustr/MCF.html and download it
  9.    with your favorite Browser( IBrowse is good).
  10.  
  11.    You should open this DOC and follow along as you install
  12.    MCF.
  13.  
  14.    Double click on INSTALL_MCF.
  15.  
  16.    Now, follow the install script.
  17.  
  18.    Using Install, make a drawer in your AmIRC Drawer called MCF.
  19.    Put your MCF OP's And Help Files in there.
  20.  
  21.    You should have a program called Play16 in your C:
  22.    directory. If you don't, GET IT! from the Aminet.
  23.    This plays all the sounds for MCF.
  24.  
  25.    You should have Say in your SYS:Utilities Drawer.
  26.    If You Don't, GET IT!. This allows speach to be
  27.    used with MCF. Also need narrator.device and translator.library.
  28.  
  29.    You can use the sounds drawer in AmIRC or make a new one
  30.    which will contain your sound files for MCF.

  32.    Use the same sound dirctory to place downloaded
  33.    sounds into.
  34.  
  35.    Now the Option Switches.

  37.    Automatically Join        =     Y/N        N is recommended
  38.    Auto Send Sound Files    =    Y/N        Y is recommended
  39.    Auto Get Sound Files      =    Y/N        Y is recommended
  40.    File Server            =    Y/N       N is recommended
  41.    Auto Greets               =     Y/N        N is recommended
  42.    Auto Ops            =    Y/N        Y is recommended
  43.    Remote Commands           =     Y/N        Y is recommended
  44.    Sounds            =    Y/N       Y is recommended
  45.    Play Sounds               =     Y/N        Y is recommended
  46.    Soundfile Not Found       =     0 thru 9   4 is recommended for auto-get
  47.    Speech            =    Y/N        Y is recommended
  48.    DalHelper            =    Y/N    Y is recommended if you use Dalnet

  50.    Proceed installing MCF OP's and Help Files.

  52.    MCF Aliases               =           Y
  53.  
  54.    Now go online and start AmIRC.  Make sure that AmIRC
  55.    has  AMIRC.1  in upper left corner of AmIRC window.
  56.    Then click proceed. You should see some
  57.    commands come up in the AmIRC Window.
  58.    If you don't,  download the aliases archive from the
  59.    MCF home page and follow included instructions.

  61.    Proceed to assign MCF:

  63.    Installing MCF ENV: to ENVARC:  = Y

  65.    Docs                          =     Y

  67.    Change the destination drawer to your MCF drawer.
  68.    Then click proceed.

  70.    Ok, that's out of the way. Now on to AmIRC.

  72.    Load AmIRC if it isn't already.

  74.    Go To           Settings/Setup with Right Mouse Button.

  76.    Select Events.
  77.  
  78.    Find "JOIN:" on the left hand side.
  79.  
  80.    Under the Rexx Command, Enter "ENV:MCF_JOIN %p"

  82.    Click OK.

  84.    Now go to Settings and Save.

  86.    Quit AmIRC and Reboot.
  87.  
  88.    Go Online again and start amirc. After you join,
  89.    "Master Functions Now Loaded" should appear as you
  90.    login.

  92.    Click on your nickname in the User List and then click
  93.    on the "VER" button below the user list.
  94.    You're info should include a line about MCF , and
  95.    should show the version number of MCF.
  96.  
  97.    If it does show, You did it.
  98.    If it doesn't, ask someone.

  100.    Now let's make a few things easier. With MCF you are
  101.    able to send sounds to users, and receive sounds from
  102.    users. We will set up a couple of buttons to do this.

  104.    Go to settings again but this time select "Actions".
  105.  
  106.    Find an open "Label:" and enter "Snd2Nik".
  107.    Under "Operation:" enter "/s ? %u"
  108.    This will bring up a file requestor and allow you
  109.    to send a sound to a person you have selected in the
  110.    user list window.

  112.    Find another open "Label:" and enter "Snd".
  113.    Under "Operation:" enter "/s ?"
  114.    This will bring up a file requestor and allow you
  115.    to send a sound to evryone running MCF on your
  116.    channel.

  118.    That's Pretty much it.
  119.    You should receive sounds if you don't already have them
  120.    ,and send sounds to others.
  121.    HINT: to listen to sounds you have, click on your own
  122.    nickname and then on "Snd2Nik"
